soil type and land preparation
well drained clay to clay loam soils rich in humus, calcium and phosphorus are suitable for good crop of berseem. the land should be opened with soil inversion plough followed by 2-3 operations by desi plough/cultivator and planking. the preparation of good seed bed is an essential component of cultivation practices to obtain desired level of tilth
