سفید مکھیاں ہیمپٹیران ہیں جو عام طور پر پودوں کے پتوں کے نیچے کھاتی ہیں۔ وہ خاندان Aleyrodidae پر مشتمل ہے، جو انتہائی خاندانی Aleyrodoidea میں واحد خاندان ہے۔ 1550 سے
زیادہ پرجاتیوں کو بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

کپاس سبزیات باغات اور دوسری فصلات کا رس چوسنے والہ کیڑا ہے
گرم مرطوب یعنی حبس والے موسم میں اسکی ابادی بہت تیزی سے بڑھتی ہے
بالغ دو سفید پروں والا کھریلو مچھر کے لگ بھگ ایک دن میں دو چار کلومیٹر سفر کر سکتا ہے
ایک بالغ کے مقابلے 5-7گنا زیادہ بچے پتوں کی نچلی سطح پر چمٹ کر ساری زندگی رس چوسنے کے ساتھ ساتھ پتے کی دونوں سطحوں کو کالا کرتے ہیں اس کے اسی کرتوت کی وجہ سے کپاس کے زمیندار اسکو کالی مکھی بھی کہتے ہیں
یاد رکھیے گا کہ
بالغ کو کنٹرول کرنے کا کوئی فاہدہ نہیں جب تک بچے بھی کنٹرول نہ ہوں لیکن بچوں کو کنٹرول کرنے کی حکومتی پالیسی کی بجاے کچھ اور کیجیۓ گا

Treatment / علاج
Reflective mulches can repel whiteflies from vegetable gardens, and yellow sticky traps can be used to monitor or, at high levels, reduce whitefly numbers. If you choose to use insecticides, insecticidal soaps or oils such as neem oil may reduce but not eliminate populations.

Whiteflies are Hemipterans that typically feed on the undersides of plant leaves. They comprise the family Aleyrodidae, the only family in the superfamily Aleyrodoidea. More than 1550 species have been described.
